Ooh me chakras..
I'm currently writing an essay about the effects of sixties counter-culture on mainstream society. Looking at Dawkin's programme it's apparent that one of the unfortunate outcomes of the counter-cultures anti-technocracy, was an even more gullible generation that embraced 'spirituality' at the expense of reason.
Having said that, there looks to be a good bit of cash to be made in manipulating chakras. I might give it a twirl. If you want your chakras fiddled with let me know...I'm cheap.

Hey, I wrote a similar essay (it was heavy, somewhere around 40 or 50 pages) about 4 years ago for college. I could recommend some good sources to use if you're interested. I would start with Theodore Roszak's "Making of a Counterculture"
Thanks for the comment godless. Roszak's work was an important primary source in the essay. I enjoyed yesterdays blog entry by the way, very groovy!
I understand you have to sort through what you come across in life. Unfortunately I think a lot of people prey to a new god these days that of capitalism and the shopping mall - kindly donated by our friends the americans....I believe the countryside talks to me without words - maybe I'm deluded. Maybe it has more meaning than shopping...
